This title offers everything you need to know to produce a thought-provoking presentation of the Easter story for Year 5 pupils of all abilities. This is a comprehensive handbook to accompany the web-based material, all of which has been thoroughly field-tested. It explores layout of the presentation space, multi-sensory elements and more. It explains the storyboard concept and provides information for accessing downloadable scripts. It includes information for preparing both the church and school communities, an exploration of practical issues and more. It is suitable for children's work leaders, clergy, worship leaders, church-based school's workers and the wider church congregation; Churches Together committee members, denominational group leaders, especially those with a community, schools or events brief. NB: The presentation is provided by the church for their local primary schools (Year 5 pupils). "The Easter Journey" is designed to unravel the story of Easter for Year 5 primary children. However, other KS2 Year groups may experience the presentation at the discretion of their teachers and in discussion with the organisers. The material places the story in its biblical and historical context. The book is designed to accompany a website, which contains helpful information and visuals about the presentation of material. The overall introduction also includes general guidelines for using the material and quoted comments from those who have experienced the presentations, as participants, teachers or members of the church-based team.
Moira Curry has worked in primary education for over 25 years. Part of the church worship team, Moira is also a trained listener and tutor for Acorn Christian Healing Trust. Gill Morgan trained as a primary teacher with music as her main subject. Gill is also on the 5-8s leadership team at Spring Harvest.
