The Edge of Cymru by Julie Brominicks
Nature-writer and hiker Julie Brominicks takes a year-long walk around the edge of Wales and discovers places she thought she knew can be viewed in many ways. She reflects this in her new book, which combines the lenses of history, travel, the environment, and nature to look at Wales, and the world, with fresh eyes and understanding.
By sharing her passion for the landscape, people, wildlife, culture and languages she encounters on the road, Julie Brominicks aims to reinvigorate an excitement for slow and sustainable travel. Her writing is also informed by her previous work in environmental education. She is the author of The Edge of Cymru (Seren Books, 2022) and contributes to various publications including BBC Countryfile Magazine and Nation Cymru. As a Welsh learner she champions Cymru, Cymraeg and cymreictod. She lives off grid, in a caravan, in a secluded valley near Machynlleth and blogs regularly at juliebrominicks.wordpress.com.
