Energy From Living Things by Rachel Stuckey

The Tilio Tree is an epic historical fiction novel occurring during the decline of the Roman Empire between the Emperors, Diocletian and Constantine. This period was one of Imperial chaos and severe persecution of Christians by the Roman Emperors. However, this story is primarily about Love - - in many of its varied ramifications, including heterosexual, homosexual, and bisexual relationships -- as experienced by, and expressed by the intertwining lives of four young Greeks from the Aegean Islands and one son of a Roman Magistrate. The young people's lives are guided by love, hate, revenge, and forgiveness. The protagonist, Michael Dionysus, ' life is unexpectedly influenced by the intervention of a strange Chinese mystic, Ming Cha, who greatly influences and guides Michael's actions as he seeks revenge against Rome and its emperors for the atrocities that Rome has inflicted upon his family and friends throughout his life. At last, at the Battle of Chrysopolis, Michael gets a chance to fulfill his quest for revenge against the Roman Empire. The author is professionally a doctor of medicine. He has two other philosophical books previously published: From Creation to Eternity and A Grand View of Existence. Both books bridge science and religion
