The Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) came to power after winning an impressive military victory over the army dictatorship of Mengistu's DERG just a decade ago. This volume is the outcome of an intensive monitoring, based on empirical research over the intervening years in various parts of Ethiopia, of the growing gap between the new regime's democratic intentions and the very different outcome.
