Evacuation by Simon Adams

The key events, figures and chronology of World War II provide the backdrop to the experiences of civilians during the war years. The different experiences of children and their families are shown from a child's perspective. Everyday lives are explored using real sources and accounts form the period including newspaper articles, posters, speeches and personal recollections. Readers are encouraged to identify with those who experienced the war.
Simon Adams graduated from the London School of Economics before becoming a full-time children's author. He has written for many major children's publishers including Dorling Kindersley and Kingfisher. His work for Watts includes titles in the Citizen Guides, Flashpoints, World War One and World War Two series as well as, most recently, Countries in the News.
