Duende, Claire: - Claire Duende was born in Ghana, West Africa of an English father and Spanish mother. She lived in Spain and Beirut before growing up mainly in Oxfordshire, England - a happy country childhood where she would spend many Sunday afternoons avoiding homework by watching old films with the wonderful Sabu. Claire has spent most of her life working as a designer and lives in an old cottage in Cornwall, England with her husband and four dogs. Their son and daughter are now grown and have fled the nest but often come back to fill the house with light and laughter. The Fortunicity of Birdie Dalal is Claire Duende's first published book.
