Fox's Foe by Colin Dann
There's trouble for Fox at White Deer Park when Scarface, leader of the foxes of the park, challenges his leadership, and gloats over the shortage of food that Fox's animals are suffering. A feud begins between the two - meaning treachery from Scarface and the deaths of some of the animals.Colin Dann was born in 1943 in Richmond, Surrey. Before gaining a career in publishing at William Collins in London, he worked for a huge textile company. At this time, he published his debut book, THE ANIMALS OF FARTHING WOOD, which was an instant hit, receiving the Arts Council of Great Britain's National Book Award for Children's Literature and being translated into sixteen languages. Six sequels and a prologue followed, and in 1992, BBC television broadcasted a major animation series based on the Farthing Wood story. He and his wife live in a house on the Sussex/Kent boundary.
