Goodbye to the Orchard by Steven Cramer

“There isn’t a page in this book that isn’t bracing. . . .”—Marie Howe Beginning with the word “defeat” and concluding on the word “alive,” Goodbye to the Orchard testifies that we must remain open in the face of loss, because loss is a given; and that our glimpses of the mysteries—whether of dying or living—are all we’re allowed. Steven Cramer is the author of The Eye that Desires to Look Upward, The World Book, and Dialogue for the Left and Right Hand. He currently lives in Massachusetts.
Steven Cramer is the author of three poetry collections: The Eye that Desires to Look Upward (1987), The World Book (1992), Dialogue for the Left and Right Hand (1997). Recipient of fellowships from the MA Artists Foundation and the NEA, he has taught literature and writing at Bennington College, Boston University, M.I.T., Tufts University, and in low-residency MFA program at Queens University, Charlotte. He currently directs the low-residency MFA program in creative writing at Lesley University in Cambridge.
