Since 1967, Bill Tara has been a vocal proponent of natural health treatment. He has taught at the Kiental Institute in Switzerland and Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado as a senior faculty member. For four years, he was Chairman of the European Macrobiotic Assembly, and for two years, he was Chairman of the North American Macrobiotic Congress. He was also the Director of Natural Health Care at the SHA Wellness Clinic in Spain. In Europe and North America, Tara has worked as a health counselor, teacher, author, entrepreneur, and founder of health education facilities. As a seminar leader, he has traveled to more than twenty nations to teach traditional ways to health, healing, and personal development.
He has spoken on food policy and human ecology on a variety of radio and television programmes in England, America, and Australia. The author founded the Community Health Foundation in London, England, which was the world's largest natural health education center. He was a co-founder of the Kushi Institute and served as the Executive Director of its London and Boston programs. He conducts macrobiotics, vegan nutrition, and natural health care courses and intense training alongside his wife, Marlene Watson-Tara.
