1938. First Edition. 242 pages. No dust jacket. Red cloth with white lettering to front board and spine. Contains 4 black and white photographic plates, including frontispiece of author. Pages are moderately tanned and occasionally foxed throughout. More pronounced to text block edges. Thumb-marking and staining present to some pages, including front free end-paper. Minor dog-eared corners and moderate creasing to plate facing page 80. Binding remains firm. Boards have noticeable edge wear with rubbing to surfaces. Mild tanning to spine and edges with some crushing to ends. Water spotting and some staining to spine and boards. Book has a slight forward lean. Board corners are bumped, with some loss to cloth.
