In 1960, John Freely moved to Istanbul to teach physics at Robert College, which is now the University of the Bosphorus, and he returned in 1993. STROLLING THROUGH ISTANBUL was his first travel book, and he has since authored more than twenty more, including CLASSICAL TURKEY, STROLLING THROUGH ATHENS, and STROLLING THROUGH VENICE.
