Award winning motoring correspondent of The Sunday Times for thirteen years until 1995, author Eric Dymock trained as an engineer in Glasgow, worked in the motor trade, wrote about cars for local newspapers, and joined the road test staff of The Motor in 1962. From 1965 to 1982 he covered grand prix motor racing for The Guardian, and later The Observer.Motoring correspondent of Town (Haymarket) 1966-1968, News of the World 1973-1975, and The Observer 1980-1983, he was motoring editor of Sunday magazine 1982-1985 and Road and Car 1983-1986. He was UK correspondent for Autovisie (Holland) and magazines in Italy and Spain. His books include a biography of Jackie Stewart, The Guinness Guide to Grand Prix Motor Racing, Post-war Sports Cars, The Sprites and Midgets, and definitive histories of BMW, Saab, Rover, and Honda in the UK.Eric Dymock wrote and researched television motoring programmes for BBC2, Thames TV, and the Australian Broadcasting Commission, and was a regular contributor to BBC Radio 4 Going Places. He set up Dove Publishing with Ruth Dymock in 1990. He won The Jim Clark Memorial Award in 2004, and was awarded the President's Trophy by The Association of Scottish Motoring Writers in 2014.
