In March, 1944, the German army marched into Hungary, followed soon after by Adolf Eichmann and his S Sondercommando. His single goal was to eliminate the entire Jewish population of the country. Rezso Kasztner-a lawyer and Zionist activist-stood in his way. Anna Porter is the author of three crime novels and The Storyteller, a critically acclaimed memoir. Kasztner's Train earned the Nereus Writers' Trust Non-Fiction Prize and the Canadian Jewish Book Award. The Ghosts of Europe is her most recent novel.
