Kick Yourself Puzzles by Paul Sloane
From duo Paul Sloane and Des MacHale, who have been collaborated on many popular lateral-thinking puzzle books since 1991. This book will have you kicking yourself, slapping your forehead, and laughing out loud, not necessarily in that order. Filled with little teasers that have trick answers, this is one book of puzzles that will amuse as well as confuse. For instance: What was the name of the president in 2000? No, not Bill Clinton - the answer is Barack Obama, the current president, who in 2000 had the same name he does today.
Paul Sloane was born in Scotland. He studied engineering at Cambridge University and works in software marketing. His first book, Lateral Thinking Puzzlers, was published by Sterling in 1991 and has gone on to become a bestseller. Des MacHale was born in County Mayo, Ireland, and is Associate Professor of Mathematics at University College in Cork. He and his wife, Anne, have five children. He is the author of over 40 books, including one on the John Ford cult film The Quiet Man and another on George Boole of Boolean algebra fame.
