He is a freelance writer and journalist who has contributed to publications such as Gardener's Chronicle, Amateur Gardening, RHS's own magazine The Garden, and Greenhouse, where he served as Editor for many years. Other contributors to this book include herb specialist Jekka McVicar, vice-president of the RHS Council and president of the Herb Society, who is known for her organic herb garden in Gloucestershire; famous orchid expert Wilma Rittershausen; John Mattock, whose family has a 175-year history of rose producing; and recently retired executive vice-president of the RHS, who is known for her organic herb garden in Gloucestershire; and recently retired executive vice-president of the RHS Julian Shaw, who worked on DK's previous gardening bestseller RHS A-Z of Garden Plants, will modify the book for the 2019 version.
