Licensing Law Handbook by Russell Hewitson

The Licensing Act 2003 has introduced major reforms to licensing law and procedure. There is now a completely new scheme for licensing the sale and supply of alcohol, the provision of regulated entertainment and the provision of late night refreshment. The Licensing Law Handbook is a clear concise guide to both the new law and procedures. It contains useful information that a practitioner will need in order to answer day to day questions. It provides a detailed and clear explanation of the new system of licensing, including the nature of the various forms of authorisation for licensable activities under the Act, how to apply for an authorisation, the forms to use, operating schedules, how to object to an application, offences, closure powers, and appeals. The Handbook includes copies of the main Regulations made under the Act and extracts from the Secretary of State's Guidance. It also considers the new developments to be introduced by the Violent Crime Reduction Bill. The Licensing Law Handbook should be the first choice for any practitioner seeking up to date guidance on licensing practice.
