The Lion BIG Bible Encyclopedia by Deborah Lock
Are you curious about what makes the Bible the best-selling book of all time? Get to know the people of the Bible - their land, their history, their lives, their heroes and their beliefs - and find out about the exciting real-life story of the Bible. This engaging children's encyclopedia about the 66 books of the Bible is bursting with facts about the events and life in Bible times, with maps of the empires, places and journeys, and details about key people. Bold illustrations, appealing design and lively bite-size pieces of text make this an ideal first reference book about the Bible for young readers. Discover the world of the Bible and how the events and people fitted into the bigger picture of God's plan from Creation to Revelation. Explore how people of the Bible worshipped and grew in understanding of the love and justice of God, encounters with angels, the power of miracles, the significance of Jesus and the Holy Spirit. This is a handy reference book for dipping into alongside a child's devotional or when reading a Bible story with a group of children to answer their curious questions and discover the context and relevance of the events.
Deborah Lock has been writing and editing children's non-fiction, fiction and educational titles for more than 25 years. She is dedicated to developing products that engage and inspire children, instil a love of reading and lifelong learning, and share the Christian faith. She is a licensed lay minister at her local parish church, leading worship and actively involved with children and youth work, and enjoys singing, drama and dance (which comes in very useful when co-ordinating the children-led Nativity service each year). Rotem Teplow was born in Kfar Sava, Israel in 1992. Since childhood I had a strong interest in art and illustration, and I always knew I want to become an illustrator. I graduated from Shenkar College of Design in 2016. I currently work with Israeli newspapers, magazines and publishers. Sarah Lang-Rybicka is a children’s illustrator based in Germany with a background in product marketing, where shaping ideas and telling compelling stories has long been part of her work. Her illustration journey began with private commissions and has since developed into a professional illustration practice, while she continues to write her own stories and bring them to life visually. When she isn’t hunched over her iPad, Sarah spends her time with her family, including her son, two cats, and a dog, who all occasionally try to supervise the creative process.
