Susan Ratcliffe is Associate Editor for Oxford Quotations Dictionaries, and over the last twenty years has edited several titles including the Oxford Dictionary of Quotations by Subject (2nd edition, 2010), the Concise Oxford Dictionary of Quotations (6th edition, 2011), and the Oxford Treasury of Sayings and Quotations (4rd edition, 2011). A historical lexicographer, having previously worked on the 4th edition of the Shorter Oxford English Dictionary, Elizabeth Knowles has had a long association with Oxford Quotations Dictionaries. As well as the 8th edition of the Oxford Dictionary of Quotations (2014), her editorial credits include the Oxford Dictionary of Phrase and Fable (2nd edition, 2005), the Oxford Dictionary of Modern Quotations (3rd edition, 2007), What They Didn't Say: A Book of Misquotations (2006), and How To Read a Word (2010). Julia Cresswell is an experienced author and language researcher, having worked on the 4th edition of the Shorter Oxford English Dictionary. Books to her credit include Naming Your Baby: The Definitive Dictionary of First Names and The Cat's Pyjamas: The Penguin Book of Clichés.
