In a collection of over 200 atmospheric photographs, the independence, sociability, and humour of their inhabitants are shown, depicting alehouses and allotments, bands, choirs great gardens and industrial streets.
Pat Dunn is a former history teacher. She founded the Lye & Wollescote Historical Society in 2003 as a result of her first three books on this area of the Black Country, all of which were in the Britain in Old Photographs series. She lives in Hagley.
