Taylor has been working with UNIX since 1980, and his Elm Mail System is one of the most widely used UNIX email systems, available on all Linux and Solaris variants. Research Scientist at HP's Palo Alto Research Labs and Senior Reviews Editor at SunWorld Magazine were among his previous responsibilities. Taylor worked closely with Solaris and Sun hardware at SunWorld. He has also written a number of books, some of them are about UNIX.
