Mango & Bambang: The Not-a-Pig (Book One) by Clara Vulliamy
A charming collection of four beautifully illustrated stories about the unlikely friendship between Mango, a little girl, and Bambang, a tapir. A charming collection of four beautifully illustrated stories about the unlikely friendship between Mango, a little girl, and Bambang, an Asian tapir. Mango Allsorts is good at all sorts of things, not just karate and chess. Bambang is most definitely not-a-pig and is now lost in a very busy city. When the two unexpectedly meet, a friendship begins, filled with adventures, and of course, plenty of banana pancakes. The Not-a-Pig is Book One in a brilliant series from Polly Faber and Clara Vulliamy.
The perfect read for those just becoming confident at reading alone* Boomerang Books *
Young readers will love the beautiful illustrations on every page and I’m sure our irresistible protagonists will charm children and adults alike. * Readings *
The large amounts of illustration with the text will help newly independent readers and makes the book more attractive to children who are beginning to read longer stories. I highly recommend this book for middle primary students and look forward to the next in the series. * Read Plus *
The friendship that develops between the lonely girl and the wild animal is beautiful, and they both grow from their adventures together. A charming collection of four stories. * Disney Princess *
The book is ideal for bedtime reading in small portions. It is luxuriously presented in purple and grey colours alone, with purple framed pages alternating throughout the book, and a jacket identical to the cover. Themes of friendship, acceptance and kindness move like a mist within the entertaining storyline. * Buzz Words *
The four stories, although separate, when weaved together showcase deeper messages of trust, inner strength, friendship and bravery. A thoroughly impressive book for any little boy or girl. * Creative Kids Tales *
