Mark by John Vincent
This volume has its origin in the Institute for Socio-Biblical Studies, in Sheffield. It gathers leading Biblical scholars, and challenges them to show what effect Mark's Gospel has had on their own lives and communities. It challenges the idea that Biblical Scholarship is a value-free enterprise concerned primarily to investigate the past. They write within a common world of interpretation of the Gospels in the years 1985 to 2005.
Dr John Vincent is Director Emeritus of the Urban Theology Unit in Sheffield, which he founded, and lectures at Sheffield University Biblical Studies Department and Birmingham University Theology Department where he is Honorary Lecturer and Doctoral Supervisor. He is a Methodist Minister.
