Middlesbrough by Norman Moorson

Middlesbrough's Albert Park: History, Heritage and Restoration is an account of the background, origins, design, creation and the history of Albert Park. The book describes the transformation that has taken place over a period of the last 130 years. Norman Moorsom takes the reader on an imaginary guided tour of Albert Park, bringing to life the landscape, lakes and historic artefacts that he describes so vividly. There is a great deal of contemporary descriptions and historical material, drawn from newspaper articles, council documents and deeds. Middlesbrough's Albert Park is fully illustrated with fascinating pictures that will bring the story of Albert Park right up to the present day. Due to the current plans for 'Albert Park', there is a detailed account of the restoration master plan that has been backed by the heritage lottery fund. Middlesbrough's Albert Park: History, Heritage and Restoration is published in conjunction with Middlesbrough's Libraries & Information Department.
Norman Moorson was born in Middlesbrough. He was educated at the local Boys High School, he then moved on to St John's College of Education, where he gained his diploma in Education. Norman taught in Middlesbrough for about 10 years. He then moved into working for the County Council, in history, for the Cleveland area. On taking early retirement, Norman now works as a freelance writer, lecturer and consultant. Norman Moorson is an acclaimed writer, with over 30 local publications to his name.
