Milly-Molly-Mandy's Schooldays by Joyce Lankester Brisley

Milly-Molly-Mandy always has fun, whether she's in school or out playing. These stories describe how Milly-Molly-Mandy has to be on her best behaviour when Teacher comes to stay, as well as what happens when a duck follows the little girl to school. Even getting to school is an adventure when it's snowing, but Milly-Molly-Mandy gets there in the end! This collection of classic tales is as fresh and lively as the stories were when they were first written. Young readers will love discovering Milly-Molly-Mandy for the first time in a dainty, accessible format - they're sure to want to collect other titles in this charming series.
Joyce Lankester Brisley began writing and illustrating at an early age; when she was thirteen her first story was published in a children's magazine. Her family moved from Bexhill in Sussex to London where she studied at Lambeth Art School for two years. When she was twenty, she and her two sisters had pictures hung in the Royal Academy, but writing and illustrating stories was her real love. The creation of Milly-Molly-Mandy and her family in 1928 was immediately successful, and she went on to write and illustrate many stories about them. Joyce Lankester Brisley died in 1978.
