VIVIENNE ALDOUS is a part-time lecturer in history at the University of Suffolk. She is a qualified archivist, having previously worked for over twenty years at the Corporation of London Records Office, following which she ran her own business as a commercial archival researcher. She is currently studying for a PhD on the life and works of the sixteenth-century Suffolk map-maker and surveyor, John Darby.
