Nelson, Navy & Nation by Quintin Colville
Navy, Nation and Nelson explores the Royal Navy's relationship with Britain from the Glorious Revolution to the Napoleonic Wars, encompassing three central themes: the realities of naval life in this period, the navy's connection to society, culture and national identity, and the story of Nelson's life and career. An ideal companion to the Museum's new permanent 'Navy, Nation and Nelson' gallery, which is scheduled to open in Summer 2013.
Quintin Colville is Curator of Naval History at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, England. His work has focused on the social and cultural identity of the Royal Navy during the late 19th and 20th centuries. James Davey is a Curator of Naval History at the National Maritime Museum.
