Night’s Black Agents by David Armstrong
When Clifford Benbow paid a bargee to kill his wife's lover, he did not allow for the hit-man's inexperience precipitating a murder inquiry. The grim landscape of the industrialized Midlands of the 1930s reflects a grimmer justice in this first novel.‘Compulsively readable’ – New York Times Book Review
‘Fast-moving… engrossing… Sidney Sheldon is a master at giving the public what it wants’ – LA Times
David Armstrong was born in Birmingham in 1946. After leaving school at fifteen, he worked as a salesman, building labourer and lorry-driver, and sold books to the British Forces in Germany. He has two grown-up children and lives in the Welsh Borders. ‘Thought for the Day’ is his fourth novel.
