A Northern Alphabet by Ted Harrison

Available now in board book format for the first time, A Northern Alphabet is an early introduction to the letters by way of all things northern- the landscape, the people, and the flora and fauna. From A for anorak and B for bear to Q for quilt and Z for zinc mine, in these pages, children everywhere can experience the color and beauty of northern life. Each letter is accompanied by simple text naming a few of the objects, animals and people depicted in each spectacular painting.

Ted Harrison is a well-known artist in Canada. He expertly knows how to connect with youngsters with his vibrant, colorful graphics and simple, humorous text as a former teacher. Children of the Yukon, his debut book, earned multiple accolades, and he was the first Canadian artist to have work admitted into the prestigious Illustrators' Show in Bologna, Italy. Every stunning image that fills his books reflects his enthusiasm for and loyalty to the North. Ted has received numerous awards, including the Orders of British Columbia and Canada. He moved to Canada after falling in love with the country, spending 25 years in the Yukon and then in Victoria, British Columbia.
