Obsessive Compulsive Disorders by Steven Levenkron

Running fifteen miles a day without being in training . . . taking two-hour showers and constantly changing clothes . . . working twelve hours a day, six days a week . . . these are obsessive-compulsive disorders. Now a world-renowned psychotherapist explains what they are, how they come about, and what can be done about them.

Steven Levenkron, a full-time psychotherapist in New York City, has been treating anorexics and cutters since 1970. Clinical consultant at Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center, clinical consultant at The Center for the Study of Anorexia and Bulimia in New York City, and adjunct director of Eating Disorder Service at Four Winds Psychiatric Hospital in Westchester, New York are among the jobs he has held in the New York metropolitan region. He is currently on the advisory board of The National Association of Anorexia and Bulimia (ANAD) in Highland Park, Illinois. His earlier book, The Best Little Girl in the World, was a breakthrough novel about anorexia and bulimia that was adapted into a television movie.
