Stephen Lowe has worked as actor, director, artistic director as well as playwright. He has written extensively for the TV series Coronation Street as well as for the stage. He is the artistic directo r of Meeting Ground Theatre. His playwriting spans thirty years and includes Comic Pictures (Scarbor ough Theatre-in-the-Round,1976); Shooting, Fishing and Riding (Scarborough Theatre-in-the-Round., 19 77); Touched (Nottingham Playhouse, 1977 and Royal Court Theatre, London 1981) winner of the George Devine Award and John Whiting Award; Ragged Trousered Philanthropists (Joint Stock,1978); Seachange (Riverside Studios, 1984); Desire (Meeting Ground Theatre, national tour, 1986); Divine Gossip (RSC Barbican the Pit, 1988); Paradise (Nottingham Playhouse, 1991); The Alchemical Wedding (Salisbury Pl ayhouse,1998), and Revelations (Hampstead Theatre 2003/4).
