Patient Hearts by Katrina Thomas

When Isabelle Weston takes leave from work to help her brother, Finn, overcome the depression he’s been in since losing his legs, Isabelle’s mother convinces her that spending time at the family’s lake lodge in the Adirondacks is just the thing Finn needs to regain perspective and start over. She also believes that the surest way to keep him there is to invite along his best friend, Mateo Elizondo. The trouble is that Mateo is also Isabelle’s former fiancé…

Isabelle resolves to ignore Mateo’s magnetic presence and focus her attention on Finn. But she soon discovers that Mateo’s young niece, Rima, is plotting to get them together—and that Mateo himself has his own plans of winning back the love he lost. But will they be able to move on from past heartbreak and rekindle the passion they once knew?

Katrina Thomas was born and raised in Lewis County, a small rural section of upstate New York. The author of contemporary romance novels Father of Convenience, Everything Wright, Island Sojourn, and Love at Morley Cove, Thomas enjoys reading, camping, and spending time with family and friends. While her favorite places to rest and write are the Adirondack Mountains of New York and the Outer Banks of North Carolina, she currently lives in Watertown, New York, with her husband and pets.
