Perfect Timing by Patsy Collins

Whether we have long hours to fill, or not a moment to spare, time plays an important part in all our lives. We might not watch the clock, but we can't escape the impact of the seconds ticking away. Time waits for no woman, neither will it accelerate at her command. It's no more considerate of men, children and teddy bears.

Being a little early, or late, can have a big impact; it could mean missing a train, inheritance, or much needed meal. Or help us catch a crook, rescue a neighbour, show us what's really important. Maybe it's not our own timekeeping we have to worry about, but that of loved ones, colleagues or adversaries.

You can read each of the stories in this book in just a few minutes, or enjoy all 25 at once over several hours.

Patsy Collins lives on the south coast of England with her husband; photographer Gary Davies. She's the author of four novels and is working on a fifth.

Patsy's short stories (500+ published to date) have appeared in a range of UK, Irish, South African, Canadian, Swedish and Australian publications. Some of her stories are available to download from Alfie Dog Fiction.

When she's not writing, Patsy travels with her husband in their campervan acting as his photographic assistant, and eats cakes. She sometimes gives talks to writing groups.

Rosemary Kind turned to writing full-time after a 20 year business career, although she had written as a hobby for many years. Initially focusing on non-fiction with a wide range of magazine articles and a book on negotiation skills to her credit, she then allowed her love of fiction to take over and now has seven titles to her credit, ranging from novels to humour and poetry. She still writes non-fiction and her 'Entlebucher breed notes' appear regularly in the dog press.

She has written her dog's daily diary as a blog for over 10 years and the following has steadily increased over that time. (www.alfiedog.me.uk). She has won a number of prizes and short listings for her poetry, short stories and blog.

She set up the international short story publisher Alfie Dog Fiction in 2012 and has built it to become one of the largest publishers of downloadable short stories in the world.

Rosemary grew up in Leicestershire but now lives with her family in North Yorkshire. Her main hobby is developing the Entlebucher Mountain Dog breed within the UK.
