Perseus et Rex Malus by Andrew Olimpi

On the island of Seriphos, lives Perseus a twelve-year-old boy living whose world is turned upside down one day when the cruel king of the island, Polydectes, while seeking a new bride, casts his eye upon Perseus' mother, Danae. The woman refuses, setting in motion a chain of events that includes a mysterious box, a cave whose walls are covered with strange writing, and a dark family secret. Perseus et Rex Malus is the first of a two-part adventure based on the Greek myth of Perseus. Using only 300 unique Latin words, this fantasy novel is of interest to those learning Latin in a classroom setting as well as those learning Latin on their own.

Andrew Olimpi is married to Rebekah, an artist, writer, and English teacher, and they live in Dacula, Georgia. Andrew teaches Latin at Hebron Christian Academy in Dacula, Georgia, when he is not writing and illustrating books. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a master's degree in Latin and is currently pursuing a PhD in Latin and Roman Studies at the University of Florida. He is the author of the Comprehensible Classics Latin novella series, which is aimed at beginning and intermediate Latin readers.
