John.C Miles began his exciting voyage of learning as a classical musician in Toronto, Canada. After moving to the UK, he worked as a children's non-fiction editor and spent many years as a parasite on the wide back of London. He, like Anthony à Wood, is a collector of unconsidered historical trinkets and has spent years researching the past and pondering how and why things happened the way they did. He now lives in Bath, where he grows parsnips, shoots photos with his ancient film cameras, and dresses up as an 18th-century pirate.
