Planet Mission by David Claiborne
Helping a settled planet renounce its obsolete religious beliefs should have been a simple mission -- after all, the irrefutable value of the Administration spoke for itself. At least, that's how Director Waters felt. His team was highly trained and prepared, with just one wild card: a celebrity addition to the team named Molly.
Getting the colonists of Polus IV to renounce their faith was just the first step, but a critical one. After that, they could reap the benefits that Earth offered. But strangely enough, the backwater colony resisted. And that was just the beginning. Even the very nature of the mystifying and miraculous planet defied the missionaries' efforts.
And when Molly rediscovered her own faith, Waters was forced to consider Plan B: the total destruction of the colony and its human inhabitants.
