
Poetry: An Introduction by Ruth Miller
This book provides an introduction to the elements of poetry, formulates a series of contexts for the interpretation of poems, and offers a substantial anthology. Its purpose is to enable students to read poems with understanding and pleasure and to provide them with a basic vocabulary for analysing and talking about poems.
Ruth Miller is an Assistant Professor of History at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. She received her Ph.D. in Near eastern Studies from Princeton University, and has published articles on Ottoman and Turkish law in the Journal of Islamic Studies, the Turkish Studies Association Journal, and Studia Islamica.
