Potter'S Workshop by Jenny Rodwell
Here, Rodwell covers all the basic theory and techniques needed to produce unique and stylish ceramics at home - including clay types and how to prepare them, pigments, glazes and slips, handbuilding techniques and using moulds. There is also advice on setting up a home workshop. The various techniques and pottery styles are presented through a series of 20 projects set out in step-by-step detail. These are supplied by 12 guest potters, among them are Josie Walter, Maggie Angus Berkowitz, Paul Scott and Jacqui Atkin. Each has provided their own tips and practical advice, while Rodwell introduces her guests with a background profile and examples of their work.

Jenny Rodwell studied at St. Martin's School of Art and the Royal Academy, as well as the School of Visual Arts in New York. A versatile artist and highly respected illustrator and author, Jenny has written several practical books on painting and drawing, and is a regular contributor to magazines and partworks, although her great passion is ceramics. Jenny lives in Edale, near Sheffield.
