Presidential Misadventures by Bob Raczka
A spoonful of poetry helps the mockery go down! This collection of presidential poems is historical and hysterical.
The clerihew is a simple poetic form specifically invented to make fun of famous people--and who is more famous than the misbehaving presidents of the United States? Here are forty-three poems teasing the commander-in-chief that are fun to read aloud and even more fun to write yourself. From the author of the incredibly inventive Lemonade: And Other Poems Squeezed from a Single Word comes a new collection filled with zingers, humdingers, and Presidential Misadventures.
Robert and his wife, Amy, reside in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. Robert, Carl, and Emma are their three children, and Rufus is their dog. They're all Cubs fanatics. As a kid, Bob enjoyed drawing dinosaurs, vehicles, and planes. He also spent a lot of time creating model rockets and paper airplanes. Bob studied art in college, which he used while creating his Bob Raczka's Art Adventures series of art appreciation books.
He also studied advertising, which he has worked in for 30 years as a creative field. Bob found how much he appreciated poetry a few years ago. He didn't take long to start writing his own. Bob has always enjoyed toying with words. If he could only give today's kids one lesson, it would be to Create stuff!
Construct fortifications. Make a comic book. Set up your own games. Create a brand-new baseball pitch.
