Really Essential Medical Immunology by Arthur Rabson
Intended for busy medical and science students getting to grips with the subject of immunology, this book is divided into five different parts covering: The basis of immunology; The recognition of antigens; The acquired immune response; Immunity of infection; and, Clinical immunology.
GKT Gazette, Vol 119, Number 2535, Oct 2005..The texbook is also useful for revision purposes; at the end of each chapter are revision boxes, containing notes in bullet point form, summarising the significant topics in the chapter. Also there is a section entitles further reading, which offers you the choice of related research articles and reviews. The layout is clear and easy to follow and throughout the text, key words are highlighted in bold. The book is in full colour with fantastic figures ranging from cartoons describing processes which are fully labelled to tables, graphs and even electron micrograph images. As a final year Medical Biochemist I have fouind the book to be very useful as a brief but factual revsion guide. The textbook would be very useful as an aid in your intercalculating year in some BSc degrees.
