Pete Miles (Graham, WA) has been experimenting with robots since the mid 1970s. Miles holds a Masters degrees in Mechanical Engineering from University of Washington. He is currently working as a senior research engineer for Ormond LLC in Kent, Washington. Miles is an active member of the Seattle Robotics Society, the world's largest robotics club, and was recently appointed to the SRS Board of Directors. Miles has been competing in Robot Sumo since the late 1990s, and his robots have placed in the top three positions at the Northwest Robot Sumo Tournament, the Seattle Robothon, and tournaments in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Tokyo. Miles is the only roboticist to date who's built and competed with walking Sumo robots.
