The Servant of Two Masters by Carlo Goldoni

The story concerns the terrible complications wrought by the servant Traffaldino when he gets himself jobs with two different people at the same time. Not all the complications are of his making; one of his 'masters' is in fact a lady in disguise, and the other master is her lover, but Truffaldino doesn't know this. This is only one of the comic elements in a plot that sparkles with invention.6 women, 9 men

Carlo Goldoni (1707-1793) was a Venetian librettist and playwright who wrote some of Italy's most famous plays and operas. He developed a distinct humorous style throughout his life, combining commedia dell'arte with a more realistic portrayal of the burgeoning middle class. My Hostess, The Crafty Widow, The Antiquarian's Family, and The Fan are among his most well-known stage works, in addition to The Servant of Two Masters.
