Cathy Erway is a culinary blogger and freelance writer located in Brooklyn. Her blog, www.NoteeatingoutinNewYork.com, is based on a two-year goal to eat more home-cooked meals instead of eating out. Cathy learned to cook at a young age from her parents, who are both passionate cooks and experimental eaters. Emerson College was where she studied creative writing. She's contributed to The Huffington Post, Time Out New York Online, and a number of smaller online publications, as well as having a major article in Edible Brooklyn.

She has hosted, competed in, and acted as a judge in a number of cook-offs in New York City, as well as taking part in Slow Food USA fundraiser events. Cathy has also instructed cooking lessons at Garden of Eve, a farm on Long Island.
