Small by Clara Vulliamy
The beautifully-written bedtime story of a boy’s favourite toy which goes missing on a trip to Grandma’s house. When Tom goes to Grandma’s house to stay, he remembers to pack everything – except his favourite toy, Small. Tom can’t sleep without Small and imagines him sad and lonely in his bedroom in the dark… Small can’t sleep either, so he climbs out of the window to go looking for Tom. He runs and runs, leaps over puddles, trips and falls – Poor Small! Through dark, dark woods Small keeps running…until he arrives at Grandma’s house. Meanwhile, Tom is also out of bed and creeping downstairs to find…SMALL! And he’ll keep him safe forever.Clara Vulliamy was born in London and studied at Chelsea School of Art, The Ruskin and the Royal Academy. She is the daughter of the celebrated author-illustrator Shirley Hughes and began illustrating picture books when she had her own children.
