Star by Pamela Anderson

Pamela Anderson's life is the stuff of fairy tales and centerfolds. A champagne blonde who was discovered by a beer company, she moved from model to Playmate, from actress to star.and now she can add New York Times bestselling author to her resum . Star is a breathless romp through tinseltown and tabloids. An insider's look at the world of inflated egos and inflated bodies, Ms. Anderson's novel goes beyond the air kisses and velvet ropes to show what really happens when A-list meets D-cup, when small-town girl gets all glittered up and becomes a star.

S.E.Anderson, a veteran activist and educator, has been involved in the Black Liberation Movement on a number of levels. He is a mathematics professor, a Senior Editor (NOBO: Journal of African Dialogue), and a founding member of the Network of Black Organizers and the African Heritage Studies Association, as well as an essayist on a number of themes relating to black culture and emancipation, as well as science and technology. Anderson was a member of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) and helped create the Black Panther Party in Harlem in 1966. His political and cultural activism in his hometown of New York City varies from helping to support the New York City Algebra Project to being a founding member of the New York City Coalition For Excellence In Black Education. Since 1964, he has been a member of the African Liberation Support Movement, and in 1968, he took part in the historic Black student/community fight against Columbia University's expansion into Harlem. He became a Columbia University Revson Fellow (1986-7) over twenty years later. Anderson became one of the first Black Studies Chairs when he accepted the challenge at Sarah Lawrence College in 1969 to develop a department that covered mathematics and the natural sciences as part of a Black Studies Curriculum.
