Johnson, EdD, is Professor Emeritus of Clinical Psychology at the University of Ottawa in Canada, as well as Distinguished Research Professor in Alliant International University's Marital and Family Therapy Department, Director of the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (www.iceeft.com), and Director of the Ottawa Couple and Family Institute. She is a widely published author and the creator of emotionally oriented therapy, which she teaches across North America and beyond. Dr. Johnson has received numerous awards, including the Order of Canada, Canada's highest civilian honor, for remarkable achievement, dedication to the community, and service to the country, as well as the American Family Therapy Academy's Outstanding Contribution to Family Systems Research Award.
