Inbali Iserles is a multi-award-winning author and a rabid animal lover. Her pen name is Erin Hunter, and she is one of the authors of the New York Times bestselling Survivors series. The Tygrine Cat, her first book, won the Calderdale Children's Book of the Year Award in 2008. It was named one of The Independent's 50 books every child should read, along with its sequel, The Tygrine Cat: On the Run. Inbali studied at the Universities of Sussex and Cambridge.

She lived in central London for many years, and her Foxcraft trilogy was inspired by her obsession with urban foxes. Michi, her main writing mascot, who looks like an Arctic fox, acts like a cat, but is actually a dog, has lately moved to Cambridge with her family.
