The Author: Miquel Marti i Pol was born in Roda de Ter (Catalonia), Spain, in 1929. He has published more than 20 volumes of poetry. In 1991 he was awarded the prestigious Premi d'Honor de les Lletres Catalanes (Award of Honor of Catalan Culture). Most recently, he received the Medalla de Oro al Merito en las Bellas Artes 1992 (Gold Medal for Excellence in Fine Arts) from the Spanish Ministry of Culture.
The Translators: Wayne Cox was born in Portland, Maine. in 1991, he received his Ph.D. in American Literature from the University of South Carolina. A widely published poet, he is currently an assistant professor of English at Anderson College in Anderson, South Carolina, where he teaches creative writing and literature.
