Theodor W. Adorno by Andrew Bowie
Adorno was a German philosopher, and social and cultural theorist whose work is seen as increasingly relevant to understanding the pathologies of contemporary society. This book considers his life and work, from the philosophical tradition he worked from to his explorations of reason and social theory, and critical assessments of modern culture.
Andrew Bowie is Emeritus Professor of Philosophy and German, Royal Holloway University of London. He has published very widely on Philosophy, and musical and literary topics, including German Philosophy: A Very Short Introduction (2010); Philosophical Variations: Music as Philosophical Language (2010); and Adorno and the Ends of Philosophy (2013).
