Three railway lives from the same family experiences working on Britains railways over three generationsJIM BODY started with GNR in 1916 as a lowly 13-year-old trainee. He was to remain a railwayman for his whole fifty-two-year career, finishing as divisional traffic accountant. GEOFF BODY made his start with LNER in 1945, at the age of 16, and left thirty-one years later, having risen to senior officer positions within the railways, Freightliners and Pickfords Tank Haulage. He has been writing about railways ever since. IAN BODY joined British Rail, WR, in 1972 aged 22 and worked there for twenty-seven years in operating and commercial roles. He continued his railway association through crowd management activity and now collaborates with his father in railway writing.
