Tribar by Andra Rotaru

A haunting exploration of memory, trauma, and the body's perception in post-communist Romania.

Translated from Romanian, Tribar delves into the complexities of human experience through experimental poetry. Andra Rotaru's work, inspired by modern dance, captures the body in motion, creating connections that are both tangible and elusive. These poems carry you through landscapes that are menacing, historical, and scientific, all interconnected like the 'incorrect connections' of the tribar.

Tribar is a choreography of visions, definitions, and confessions, ultimately finding joy in rediscovering the self. This collection is for readers who appreciate experimental poetry, Romanian literature, and the exploration of identity through language and the senses.

Rotaru, Andra: - Andra Rotaru is a poet and the founder of the multimedial and multilingual journal Crevice. Her dance performance LEMUR has been performed in the US and across Europe together with the choreographer Robert Tyree. She has worked extensively at the intersection of poetry, fiction, photography, video and performance. She is the author of ü¾™–Œ¼ntr-un pat sub cearşaful alb (In a Bed Under the White Sheet, 2005); En una cama bajo la sü¾Œ–”¼bana blanca (the Spanish translation of her debut volume, 2008); Ţinuturile sudului (Southern Lands, 2010); and LEMUR (2012).
